Increase Your Blog Traffic 17 Sure Ways

My recent travels across the web have afforded many new lessons-learned and revealed several interesting new facts to me. In addition to the varied educational benefits I have been amassing from the many truly informative blogs I've personally visited, I have noticed that most of the traditional sites and blogs are operated by individual entrepreneurs or small business persons. Some of these people may actually be moonlighting employees of large corporations, who thankfully have chosen to offer their personal experience and considerable wealth of knowledge to visitors who come upon their site. What great resources are out there for all of us! One cannot help but notice the efforts by many bloggers to discover additional strategies and methods for increasing their site traffic. So many bloggers are exchanging favs, links, reviews and other connections. Some persons are now paying for links. Most strategies however, are built on the premise of "do this for me and I will reciprocate." While there is nothing wrong with this approach, I prefer to exercise my faith in humanity, utilize an honor system and make the following suggestions. Keeping these facts in mind, I suggest that we all be ever-mindful of our fellow web-preneurs and do our very best in contributing to their emboldened web presence, to their overall sales growth and success, thus guaranteeing our own as well. What? How? If you believe, like I do, in the principle of "what comes around goes around," and the Golden Rule, then embracing the following, somewhat radical ideas, will be easy. When you visit a blog or traditional web site, always make it a point to do the following:

1. If the site interests you, bookmark it. Come back often.

2. If you enjoy their article content and subject matter, subscribe to their feed. Don't just think about it.

3. Click on their Technorati Fav button.

4. If you enjoy an article, take a few moments to comment on it. People really appreciate this.

5. Bookmark your favorite articles. Bookmark the articles using Digg, Delicious or Whatever buttons are furnished.

6. Author a new article, featuring a link to their site or blog. Use track-backs.

7. If they have another web site or blog, visit it as well and follow the steps listed here again.

8. If he/she has published articles on the many available article distribution hubs, read them.

9. Vote for their blog or article if a button is provided! Be encouraging.

10. Place a link to their site on your own page. Your readers will also appreciate the reference.

11. If he/she has written a book, buy and read it. Consider reviewing it. Let them know what you think.

12. Look over their ads. Click on anything that appeals to you. Window shopping is okay.

13. If you are part of a blog community, visit others' blogs and leave positive messages.

14. Subscribe to their newsletter.

15. Tell others about their site. Recommend visits.

16. Call or email them. Introduce yourself. Make a new friend and contact.

17. Make certain that the "do not follow" tag for comments is disabled on your blog.

Many of us, in our haste, tend to extract the benefit from a site, and then hurriedly move on to the next one. We often fail to edify our new benefactor by making any of the above actions. Employing these suggestions requires little effort or time investment, but will provide a large, positive difference to others. That alone is worth the small price you will pay. There is, in fact, another huge bonus: All of these suggestions will benefit you as well, perhaps even more than the one you are helping. You will learn much in the process, and learning is often considered the primer step to earning.

These ideas are designed to provided significant traffic and links back to your site. People will also visit your blog, read your articles, buy your books, leave supportive comments and help to spread the word about what you have to offer! It will perpetuate, continuously being paid forward. You see, edifying and giving to others is always the best way to increase your own success, feelings of self-worth and accomplishment.

Getting traffic to any website is a really important skill to master. However its important not to overdo it or get sucked into the "all you need is traffic" mentality. With traffic - quality wins everytime. What can really work for you is if you post to your blog often, and try to post high value original content that will be of interest to your perspective readers, remembering all the time that keywords are what drives traffic to your website

So finding the right keyword and keyword phrases and writing content to fit these, will help your blog traffic quite abit, as will things like video and audio podcast feeds
