SEO Tips - Some New SEO Tips to increase Google search ranking

I have seen in many blogging forums such questions “How can increase my google search ranking” asked by newbies. So, i have written this article for bloggers to answer their question. I have listed 9 onpage SEO optimization tips to help you improve your google rankings. Just implement these SEO tips and see your search engine rankings boosting and hence traffic increasing. I have even written an article on How I doubled my site traffic .. may help you.

SEO Tips

Onpage optimization to increase Google ranking:

The 9 tips to improve google ranking are given as:

1. Keywords :

Keywords are the words used by users to search for results. So, use of right keywords in posts help in increasing google rank and thus attracting high traffic from search engines. You can use Google adwords or various keyword softwares to track proper keywords that suit your article.

2. Title :

It is title that is seen first by search engine spiders rather than article body. So, use of right keywords in article title helps in increasing site traffic from search engine.

3. header tags :

This is very important part of onpage optimisation, which i was neglecting so long. These header tags h1, h2,h3,h4 are used to indicate title and subtitles according to their hierarchies. I will write an article on this separately.

4. strong and em tags :

Use strong and em tags to highlight content. Also, what is more advantageous is , these strong and em tags are used to inform spiders “what the content is about”. So, use strong and em tags for keywords. But, dont overuse them.

5. Image alt tags :

Generally, while including image in post, we just enter image tag with its source (img src=”"). Alongwith this, include alt tags which tell search engine spiders about what image is actually about. Try using keywords in alt tags.

6. Anchor text :

While using links in posts, it is general practice to use “here” or “site” as anchor text. For example, to provide a download link to software, one use “Download here” as anchor text. But, it would be better if you use “Download software here” as anchor text.

7. Title tags :

When anchor text is optimized, its time to look at title tags. Title tags come in role when you hover mouse over a link and content of title tags are displayed without user clicking link. This title tag is used to inform search engine spiders about site you are linking to. So, why not use this title tag to include keywords??? So, title tags with keywords help in SEO.

8. New unique content :

It is my general observation that search engine prefers new content than redundant copied content. So, try out your innovation to write on new topics or if you dont have new topic, just develop your own way of presenting the topic and remember “NEVER COPY”. Yes, you can use other articles to get ideas on subject but dont be a copycat. You are a BLOGGER and not a Copycat.

9. Start and end :

Usually, it is seen that stuffing keywords at start and end of article increases chances of getting high search engine rank. So, it is beneficial to use keywords at start and end of article.

Guys, just try out these tricks and you’ll find your google traffic increasing. These tips have helped me a lot in getting google hits. I hope they may help you. If you know any SEO tricks not mentioned in article, but has helped you in getting google traffic, please mention it in comments section.

All of you have known that SERP or Search Engine Result Page is the key factor for your visitor coming to your blog or website. How to Improve SERP has become an old question for blogger newbie,or newbie webmasters. And now,i will reveal the answer for the question: How to Improve SERP.

::. Introduction

Before i told you the trick to improve SERP,let me explain you what is SERP. SERP stands for Search Engine Results Position. SERP is the listing of web pages returned by a search engine in response to a keyword query. Each page typically consists of 10 URLs, with no more than 2 URLs per domain. If your blog or website sit on the first page of SERP for particular keywords, your blog will get a great great traffic.Otherwise,if your blog is not good on SERP,your blog is difficult to get visitors from search engines.

::. The Answer of How to Improve SERP

I have to tell you that to Improve SERP is not easy as abc. Could be say that sometimes How to Improve SERP is an on-going process, but sometimes hitting the first page or even the first list on SERP could be so easy. So here are the steps to Improve SERP: Improve SERP

  • The first first thing you have to do is to find your keyword you want to rank high on search engine(let it say Google). In this example i use keyword 'emoticon.
After you found the keyword,do some search on Google about your keyword. And this is what google says:
    clip_image002

You could see on that image that keyword 'emoticon' returns more than 11 millions results. It obviously a difficult niche and you have to find another keyword. i use 'how to make animated emoticon'
Hey... you could see that it only returns about 200thousands results. And it's suite for your keyword instead of 'emoticon'

  • The second steps to help you improve your SERP is to spread your keyword on your posting or webpage as many as possible. You have to noticed that you also have to make special attribute on those keywords(i.e:by bolding them, underlined, highlight, etc)
  • After you have done with those steps, the hardest thing or process to Improve SERP is to collect many quality backlinks from other website which have topics in common(example:if your blog or website is talking about music, you should find quality backlinks from music forum,or music website/blog.).
Actually, this steps is called an on-going process. How to Improve SERP is not an one night-job-done.It need months to be well done.

Yup,that is How to Improve SERP .if you practice it well,i'm sure your blog or website will have a great numbers of visitors. That's it about How to Improve SERP. If you have question just feel free to ask me about it. Thanks...

I realize that many blogger have already known how exactly adding meta tags. But, i still want to share my knowledge to help newbie blogger. Besides, i will not only tell you the procedure about how to add meta tags to your blog, but i will also reveal the most frequent mistake found when choosing meta tags. So let's go to the case!

::. Introduction

In summary SEO consist of 3 major points :

  1. Title (including meta tags)
  2. Backlinks
  3. Keywords (including meta tags)

You see that meta tags are playing very important role. What is meta tags? Well, meta tags are collection of information which is exist inside HTML code of your blog. The use of meta tags is helping search engine to know what is your blog or web telling about. So, if you have a correct and accurate meta tags stick in your blog you are in way of achieving higher rank on Search Engine Result Position. And it's really good for your traffic!

::. Adding meta tags

  1. First of all, go to http://tools.seobook.com/meta-medic/

it helps you compiling HTML code for your meta tags.
  2. Fill the title box with your blog title; example: All computer tips, or Electronic blog
  3. Type your blog description in Description box, and fill the keywords box with your blog keywords.
  4. Click "Create Meta Tags"
  5. Sign in to your blog account. Go to dashboard menu,go to layout and select EditHTML menu.

    image
  8. Click "Save Template"

::. Give attention !!

There are certain things you should consider when you try to create meta tags:

  1. Title

When creating your blog title, it should not look like this:

    > Welcome to my blog! or

    > How to make money online and how to get rich in 30 days

The first title is completely horrible, because it doesn't reflect what the content of your blog

The second title contains too many characters although it contains many keywords, but we should try the short ones like this:

    > Make money online | Get rich shortly

title above is the perfect one.
  2. Keywords

Try as best as possible when you are creating your keywords for your blog. Choose good keywords which reflect the main content of your blog. Once you found the best keywords, sometimes you have to spread the keywords on your posting as i have explained in past posting. If you have not read yet, you can read it here.
  3. Description

Describe what is your blog telling about. Describe as well as possible to search engine what is the content of your blog.
  4. Consistent!!!

Once you have added meta tags to your blog, you have to be consistent with those tags. Don't ever think to change it unless your tags is still new. Changing meta tags could make the search engines spiders confused with your page, and it's not good for your blog. So keep consistent!

P.S : don't forget to re-add your meta tags when you change your blog template. The procedure is just the same.

So, i think it's enough for this topic. I hope you are learning something new and usefull from this article. Thanks....

Google Page Rank Blasting Secret Information

imagePage Rank is valuable for almost all web-developer and blogger since Page Rank tells the Google about how important your blog is. It becomes more important and pricey since high Page Rank or usually called high PR can be some kind of gold field for the blog owner because some affiliate marketing services will pay you some bux if you join the group and of course you only can join the group or become a member if you have high PR blog or website. So, this time i will tell you many important informations about Page Rank that still few people know or recognize about it or even act it to their own blog or website. So here we go...

::. What is Page Rank

Google Page Rank is simply Google's way of displaying how important a webpage is. Google assumes that when 1 webpage links to another webpage, it's actually "casting a vote" for the webpage. The more votes you have for your webpage, the more important your webpage will be. Google also notice the importance of other website pages linking to your website or blog. If many website link to the website's webpage linking to you then their link will be more important and will increase your Page Rank more.

To see the Page Rank of your blog or site, simply download the google toolbar by clicking this link : http://toolbar.google.com

toolbar by clicking this link : http://toolbar.google.com
image The google toolbar.

::. The FORMULA

Now i will tell you how PR(Page Rank) is calculated. This is very important, because 90% of webmasters on internet do not understand how PR is calculated, because they do NOT know what is the formula of it. So, pay attention to this formula (don't be surprised!!) :

your PR : 0.15 + (0.85 * (a "share" of the PR of every webpage links to it))

0.15 = the lowest PR you possibly have
0.85 = The fix number that Google uses for their formula
"share" = the PR of page linking to you divided by the total number of links on that page.

Okay, don't get confused with that formula , I will give you a simple example,

image (figure 1: site A links to site B)
Let's count together...

Page A : 0.15 + (0.85*0) = 0 (no site is linking to site A, hence its PR is 0)
Page B : 0.15 + (0.85*1/1) = 1 (site A is linking to site B, and the total number of links on page A is just 1)
Page C : 0.15 + (0.85*0) = 0 (no site is linking to site C, PR is zero)

Another example:
Page A (PR 1) links to Page B and Page C, so the total number of links exist on page A is 2

Page A : 0.15 + (0.85*0) = 0 (no site linking to page A)
Page B : 0.15 + (0.85*1/2) = 0.15 + 0.425 = 0.575 (site A is linking to site B,but the total number of links on page A is 2)Page C : 0.15 + (0.85*1/2) = 0.15 + 0.425 = 0.575 (site A is linking to site C,but the total number of links on page A is 2)

you should see that there is a big change between the first example and the second example (PR 1 turn into 0.575)

hmm... do you get it?

From the formula and the example above i can conclude that less total number of links exist on page which link to your page it means more percentage of PR given to your page. By knowing this you should think twice before doing link exchange to your partner's website, less links on your partner's page is better ; otherwise more PR your partner have is better for our page.

Okay, it's kind of hard and difficult lesson this time, but like many people say, we never know till we try. Yup, all lesson i have given to you is useless if you never put it into action. And another time, i try to give you another usefull information about boosting up your traffic, SEO ,SERP, and PR. Good Luck! 3nj0y

Blogging for Profit and Traffic

Blogging for profit involves specific knowledge of how to make money online, although if you are only blogging for traffic then you are guaranteed that if you link your website to your blogs. In order to blog for profit, or to make money in other words, you need to understand the principles of Google Adsense, a selling advertising space on your blog and affiliate marketing. You could also advertise your products on your blog if you have any to sell, but you will likely be doing the selling from your website and that is another technique altogether.

Before discussing ways in which you can use your blog to make money, let’s first discuss your blog, and where you are operating it from. If your blog is a Blogger or Wordpress blog hosted by either of these two, then your options are very limited when compared to uploading your own blogging software from wordpress.org. If you are serious about blogging for money then you should do so from your own website.

If you have no web host as yet, and are seeking one from which to operate your blog, then make sure that your host offers MySQL. You will need that to run Wordpress from your website. The reason that Wordpress is recommended is that it is the best blogging software online if you have your own website. If you do not, then many people prefer Blogger, although others still use Wordpress from the Wordpress.com site.

I will not go further into this because it is not the object of this article, which is to recommend ways of making money from a blog. First register with Google Adsense. Enter that into your browser and follow all of the instructions. You will be able to offer adverts on your blog, and will be paid every time somebody clicks on an advert. They don’t have to buy anything, just click on the advert.

You should place your Adsense blocks somewhere on your sidebar, and also at the bottom of your blog so that when people have finished reading they have something to click on. If your reader reaches the end of your article, page of blog, it means that are interested in what are writing, otherwise they would have left and clicked on to somewhere else.

If you have nothing at the end of the post or the page, then people will feel somewhat let down. If you provide them with something to do, even just to click on an advert that interests them, then that is what they are liable to do. The theme of the adverts are determined by the Google contextual algorithm often called LSI, that determines the theme of your content through the vocabulary that you use in it.

You can also offer affiliate links on your blog: links to products being sold by others whereby you get a proportion of the sales price for each sales (frequently 50%). You can find lots of affiliate products to sell on Clickbank.com. or simply by entering the term into your favourite search engine. These links can take the form of banner ads, text links or clickable logo, and you can place them anywhere on your blog.

This applies predominantly for blogs run from your own website, where you have total editing over the html of the various components of your blog: the stylesheet that controls each complete page, the headers, footers, sidebars and everything else that makes up your blog. You do not have this degree of control over a hosted blog. If you want to use your blog to make real money, then it is necessary to have your blog on your own website rather than on a blog host such as Bloggit or Wordpress.com.

There are other ways in which to use your blog to make money, and blogging for profit and traffic is a combination of many sources of income and traffic generation techniques. Once you understand how to use these, you will find your blog a lot more useful than just a simple website.

Get a Higher Page Rank by Blogging

Most people who are experienced with search engine optimization would know the basic procedure on how to attain a higher Google Page Rank for a website. With most SEO strategies, one can be sure about an increase of about two or three ranks within three months or so, but it doesn't hurt to gun for more. While SEO is quite simple as long as there is intelligent effort, some SEO services cost money. That is money that could be used elsewhere, so one must look for a better alternative before spending actual money for a higher Page Rank. Contextual link building is one the most effective SEO strategies available. While you can go on and email people about exchanging links with you, there is actually a better way to gain affiliates to your website. One of these good link building ideas that can be utilized to maximize growth is blogging.

Blog About Products and Services

Blogging can be a sort of regularly-updating advertisement for your online business. It provides news and updates on your products and services to interested parties. By blogging your day-to-day business activities, potential customers can be certain that they can get them whenever and however they can be made available. Make sure that your blog has RSS so that visitors can subscribe and get regular updates to your blog.

Integrate Your Blog with Your Main Site

If your blog is one with your main website, you can have an easier time in increasing Page Rank as it is quite easy to do so with a blog. Within the first three months, it is entirely possible to gain a Page Rank of 3, so if your main website is integrated to your blog, it can share that Page Rank. By utilizing good SEO procedures, it can be easy.

Post Relevant Content Regularly

Regular updates increase the chances of getting a higher Page Rank as Google pings your site every once in a while. This is absolutely helpful if your blog is integrated to your site, so keep the previous tip in mind. By giving visitors the appropriate information, they will be enticed to revisit your site for reference and other such purposes.

Write Blog Reviews of Other Related Sites

By writing positive reviews and critique of other related sites in your blog, you are giving those sites incentive to support and link your site back. This type of advertisement is a powerful method of link building that can dramatically increase your chances in attaining a higher Page Rank within the shortest amount of time possible.

Combine Blogging with Other SEO Strategies

Blogging alone can give your site more traffic and such by a certain degree, but it alone is not powerful enough. Combine it with other tested search engine optimization methods to get the best effect. Such things like link building, keyword density, meta tagging, submitting sitemaps, and so on can multiply the effect that blogging can give you. If you had integrated your main site with your blog, then it will increase your chances even more.

Your Blog Marketing Business

An Increasing number of aspirants are making money online through blog marketing. Blog marketing is nothing, but an online magazine, wherein bloggers post content and useful information. It is fun writing blogs and reading blogs written by other people. It is not necessary for bloggers to write their own opinions. They can also mention tips, tricks, ideas, and resources in their blogs. The main benefit of writing a blog is that, people do not require any kind of HTML tactics. There are set scripts, which people can install on their server easily with equipped templates. In addition, there is a service Blogger, wherein for a single click by any user, bloggers get commission.

In certain cases, bloggers get their entire job done through blog marketing. Most of the scripts have a special tool to inform topmost blog search engine about the new posts. Thus, blog search engines automatically produce link to the bloggers post. It is possible for bloggers to gain views by simply using this mode of blog marketing.

Significance of Blogging:

There are several methods to monetize blogs, and create multiple streams of income. One easy way to gain from blog marketing is installing AdSense ads. When a visitor clicks on this ad, bloggers receive a commission of $1.00 or more. Many visitors after finding anything appealing in a blog stay longer and click the links and ads placed in these blogs.

While deciding to start blogging, bloggers need to consider their hobbies and the things they would wish to post in their blogs. An easy way to make use of blog marketing is by writing about something that appeals and attracts more number of visitors to those blogs.

Bloggers need to understand that most visitors log on to the Internet just for getting reliable information. Hence, they mostly search through keywords that give benefits to them in respect of service. It is a general fact that most people search ways to make online income. Hence, bloggers need to grasp all the attention of viewers by posting relevant contents that fulfill all needs and wants of visitors.

However, it is of great use to write about online marketing, personality development, real estate investment, finance, or web design to grasp attention of viewers. In addition, tips on topics, such as how to invest in real estate, how to be healthy, recent trends in online marketing, dieting tips, and reviews on movies and celebrities work efficiently in driving more interest to a blog.

Overview:

Blogs are increasingly becoming a useful tool to communicate with online viewers. This is the only medium that allows bloggers to have a two-way communication. It is unlike a business conversation with customers, since here, customers can also talk about their reviews and thoughts regarding the business.

Blog marketing is the latest innovative marketing strategy on the Internet. It offers an authentic source of hot earnings, provided bloggers give strong set-up and the right impulse. Certainly, it is a profitable source of income and remains consistent in future.

Blog Marketing Miracles: How To Bring Sales To Your Business Through A Weblog

An increasing number of business entities are actively using blogs as part of their marketing strategy. Why? Blogging is providing them the ability to connect with their audience thus encouraging goodwill which in turn helps bring sales. Marketing through Blogging

It is nothing you have not heard for quite some time now. Blogging has caused quite a stir. It has, in fact, continued to proliferate rapidly. In early days, a blog is just a personal online diary. It is a place to publish one’s thoughts, to collect and share things that one finds interesting. It is a venue to express one’s rants, raves and musings. Today, professional and amateur journalists, political pundits, business honchos, entertainers, everybody seems to be blogging. Blogs are now being used to promote a business, run a political campaign, elicit publicity, among others.

A blog or weblog is an online diary of events arranged in reverse chronological order. The author of a blog is known as a blogger and writing or maintaining a blog is referred to as blogging. An individual entry or article is called a post and is available in the form of a blog page for the public to read. A blog may have a commentary box for readers to leave comments or opinions. These comments act as stimulus for further conversations. A business or corporate blog is simply a blog about a specific business. It is an effective medium for communicating with current and potential customers to share knowledge and expertise and foster relationships.

A company that employs a well-planned blogging strategy can spur significant market gains and sales earnings. Marketing is not just promoting a product or service. More importantly, it is about understanding the needs and wants of customers and developing products or services that satisfy these needs and wants effectively.

A blog enables a company to reach out to current and potential customers, in a more personal way. A blog builds connection and links between the company and its key audience which helps the company use this network over time to improve overall business. A business blog especially if regularly updated can inform readers about a company product or service, information, industry news, tips, tutorials or company developments. Links to industry-related stories can also be found in a blog. The way the targeted audience responds to these information or content is important to any company.

A blog is a good venue for customers to air issues, concerns and give comments. Through a blog, customers can give their own inputs. A company can hear directly from customers and understand what they desire to get from a product or service. Sometimes, the most well-intentioned product under perform because of lack of customer feedback. With blogging, a company can ask for feedbacks, albeit not the whole world, but at least the blogging community. Once a company has insights into what a large community thinks of the product or service, the company can then further improve the product or service to meet customer requirements. After all, customer satisfaction is of utmost importance.

A company who listens and responds to customer feedbacks conveys the message that there is somebody who listens behind an otherwise faceless company. Because a blog is conversational, it gives the company a human voice.

This assures customers that there is a “real” person who will take care of their needs. Customers will feel an affinity with the company. Regular visits brought about by regular updates thru fresh blog entries will familiarize the customers with the company and make them feel that they personally know the company. In due time, trust and loyalty is built and relationships fostered. As we all know people generally buy products or avail the services of people they know and trust. Rest assure that return visits to the blog, maybe for more information will transpire even after a purchase has been made. As they say, customer loyalty is the end-all-be-all of marketing.

A company that utilizes customer ideas, feedbacks, and opinions can further satisfy customer needs and wants and thus facilitates goodwill in the blogging community. It is standard practice in blogging to provide a link to a thought originator which is important because backlinks are a method for search engines to rank a blog. Search engine ranking is very important. Google and Yahoo are two of the most popular search engines.

A blog is typically written daily thus the blog post is new. The search engines index the new post more often than the regular website. The result is a high rank compared to a website. If a company has a product to promote and publishes blog posts about the product regularly, chances are one of the blog posts will be found by readers who may be looking for information about the product. Hopefully, after reading the blog post, the potential customer will visit the company website and make a purchase online or buy the product in a “brick and mortar” store. Marketers acknowledge that potential customers can be customers once they find the information they want about a product from the company’s blog.

Another feature of a blog why search engines love it is a blog’s high number of incoming links. Bloggers link to other blogs, articles and websites. The reading audience is exposed to a plethora of information. Bloggers, thus, create and retain a loyal following of readers. PageRanks for blogs are usually very strong too. As you and I know, high search engine ranking translates to high traffic and more sales leads.

Generating Sales from Blogging

The way to get the most from blogging is by building a strong brand. A brand is simply value for the customer. It is good customer service and products or services that will satisfy customer needs and wants. A blog can help a company demonstrates its expertise in its industry or field. Blogs do create buzz about a company’s authority in its niche. A blog connects a company to its target audience and peers and starts a more dynamic conversation with the marketplace. A blog helps to show a company’s value, its online brand on the web. Once a company has built a strong brand, sales will just follow.

Publishing a blog will not automatically generate higher sales. However, it is an efficient way to communicate with customers and prospects. A blog in itself is an excellent tool to support a business, provide value, build relationships and establish brand and image. The ultimate purpose of a blog is to brand, to communicate and to connect. Increased sales should only be viewed as a positive indirect effect of a successful blog.

Blogs And Sales: A Natural Business Partnership?

As you can surmise, one of the principal reasons why businesses find blogs effective as business tools is they help generate or increase sales. While there is no quantitative amount with regards to the exact monetary significance of blogging on sales, there are evidences of some sort of return on investment. Increase in sales can be and often is one of the indirect effects of successful blogging. Blogs – Good for Business

Imagine sitting in front of your computer with millions of people (shareholders, business partners, competitors, employees and the media) conversing about business and the like. Now imagine if you can use all the information you learned to establish what product or service your customers want, why they want it, how they want it and how much they are willing to pay for it. This is precisely what a blog is all about and much more. Definitely, blogs are good for businesses.

A blog or a weblog is an interactive website that maintains an ongoing chronicle of information. It is a regularly updated website featuring links to other articles or other websites. Generally, a blog tends to have a main content area with articles called posts or entries listed in reverse chronological order with the latest on top. Typically, these articles are organized in categories. There is also an archive of articles based on dates. A blogroll, a list of links to other related sites is another feature of a blog.

A blog may contain one or more feeds. Most blogs publish feeds (RSS, RDF, Atom). A feed is a machine-readable content that is updated periodically. A feed reader displays the new post and a link to it. Most blogs also have a feature that allows visitors to leave comments. With a blog, you publish fresh content and your readers can add their own comments with links to their own blogs. Easy to use blogging tools are available, often for free. A basic blogging tool provides an interface where you can work in an easy and intuitive manner while it takes care of the rest of the logistics involved in making your blog presentable and available for the public.

Blogging, authoring or maintaining a blog, is one of the rapidly increasing growth areas of the Internet. According to popular search engine Technorati, there are roughly more than 40 million blogs on the Internet today and more blogs are appearing at the rate of 75,000 a day. This is mainly due to the numerous benefits of blogging for business.

A blog has a powerful marketing capability to grow your business, be it small or big. You can now have a commanding presence on the Web, not one based on size, capital, or resources but one based on quality of content, targeted audience and useful products and services. With blogs as equalizers, the blogosphere has become a truly exciting playing field for all businesses.

A blog is a constant source of valuable and up-to-date information. Setting up a blog allows you to showcase your expertise and establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry. A blog can be your vehicle for product or service updates, company news and any other information you want to relay to your targeted audience. A blog must contain relevant information, not just sales pitches; otherwise readers are much less likely to return. As with any part of a business marketing plan, a blog must contain information that appeals to its targeted audience.

A blog is an effective method to communicate with clients and prospects. It allows you to openly and regularly converse with them increasing credibility, creating trust and forming relationships with them early on. A blog with its conversational style is ideal for developing good customer relationships. Readers will feel comfortable with you long before they call you to make a purchase or avail of your service.

A blog is a great tool to get feedback from readers. Your readers can leave comments or make inquiries. A blog is a great way to find out what readers are thinking and in the process provides you with ideas or how to better serve them thus improving your business. Forming business decisions based on reader feedbacks can be one of the smartest business moves you can ever make.

Nevertheless, to be effective, a blog has to be updated frequently. Readers do not visit blogs that do not feature fresh content regularly. Keeping readers in the know with periodic posts about your business creates buzz and publicity. There is work involved in creating a blog. It takes time and commitment to write interesting and informative blog posts. But it may prove to be well-spent especially if it helps generate sales.

Blogs and Sales – In Tandem

Sales require personal interaction. A blog is one such place where communication thru conversations thrives and relationships are fostered. When you give your readers significant information they can use through your blog consistently, they will be satisfied. They will then return for more fresh content on a regular basis. Overtime, you will be able to build a loyal following. Readers will see you as an expert in your particular niche. Your readers will come to trust you and a relationship is developed. Your readers will perceive that it is less of a risk to buy from you or avail of your service. If you can blog efficiently about your subject, they tend to believe that your product or service will be worth it.

By blogging, you are sending the message that there is someone listening, someone you can approach as can be gleamed from answered comments and fresh updates. This will make your readers feel more secure and will take this into consideration as they form a purchasing decision. Blogging is inherently an ongoing conversation that in the long run builds trust and loyalty and breeds familiarity. When they become satisfied customers, they will come to you for more information and if given the choice will want to buy from you. This strengthens the relationship between you and your customers and they may also send other sales lead your way. The cycle goes on. Moreover, a blog is a remarkably effective way to get high search engine ranking. In other words, blogs can bring in more readers – more prospective buyers.

A much publicized example that highlights the natural relationship between blogs and sales is the Stormhoek case. Blogging doubled South African wine producer Stormhoeks’s sales in less than twelve months. Aware of the vast numbers of people who blog and read posts, Stormhoek decided to capitalize on this by offering bloggers free bottles of the Stormhoek Shiraz 2004 and Sauvignon Blanc 2005 to try and comment on. Sales went up from 50,000 cases to 100,000 cases. The wine became popular and earned it listings in prestigious wine connoisseur clubs. What is more, Stormhoek gets feedbacks and suggestions ranging from bottle color to label design.

Blogging is marketing to people in a less obtrusive and offensive manner, more like a freewheeling conversation compared to an irritating sales pitch. It truly is a good way to increase sales, albeit indirectly.

Strategies for Preventing Comment Spam

Bloggers are painfully aware of website owners who try to improve their website's rank by adding links to blogs. There are several strategies for combating this problem. The first and most obvious method is to avoid free blogger sites. These are favorite targets for comment spam. Bloggers who own their own software can add a no-follow tag. The rel=nofollow tag does not stop the spam, but it does stop robots from following the link. Blogger, owned by Google, implements these tags already. Wordpress has anti-comment spam plug-ins to help bloggers stop comment spam.

Do not bother banning the IP address - unplugging a computer for one hour can change the IP address, and changing a server's IP address is relatively easy. Some companies buy IP addresses in blocks of a hundred or more, and spammers also use open proxies. These are IP addresses that allow anyone access. Configuring a blog to prevent javascript and HTML code in replies is a solid and easy to implement method of attacking comment spam. It is possible to configure some blog software programs to automatically convert any string that starts with http:// into a url. This will not stop manual comment spams, but it will stop the crawlers.

The spam crawlers search the web looking for descriptive form names. Field names like 'comment' or 'reply' make it too easy for comment spam crawlers to find a potential victim.

Many blogs are using CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart). This new tool requires the user to post a text and number combination before their post is published. However, a simple trip to the freelance bidding forums already indicates that countries (Ukraine and India are the most obvious) are hiring people to do nothing but post comments all day. This undermines CAPTCHA tools anyway!

There are two other methods that are available to most bloggers. The first is user authentication - this requires the person to sign up for a user name and password before publishing a post. This slows down comment spammers in two ways: (1) they must take an extra step before publishing, and (2) most authentication programs are configured to accept an email address once.

The second method is to moderate every post before it is published, but the sheer time involved can be daunting. However, the advantages of having 100% control over your blog's content can tip the scales in the favor of moderating. Many posts do not use relative keywords, or post irrelevant comments based on an emotional reaction to the information. Moderating the blog allows the blog owner total control over the information on their page.

    Removing Bloggers Block

Some of you may have already experienced writer’s, or in this case blogger’s, block. This is when you can’t seem to start blogging anything worthwhile, sometimes not even a single word’s worth. How could this happen when you were so good at blogging before? Why is it that you can’t get one word written? And the most frustrating thing of all: the more time you spend thinking about blogging, the less able you are to start your next project! Is there any cure? Luckily, there are a few things you can try.

Visiting other people’s blogs is a good start. Read through your favorite ones, or do a random blog search and see what gets turned up. Reading what other people have to say can spark your own creativity and send you over the hump of blogger’s block. Leave some comments to get you started; you might be able to expand on their ideas, and sometimes you can track back to your own blog. Looking at your blog inbox can help, too, as there might be a question or comment there that can get you started.

Look for a word or topic. Then begin writing about it. You can also do this with pictures. Check out photos and think of something to write about it. You can also check the news, which is always rich with current events. Even if there isn’t anything that directly relates to what you normally write about, writing about something completely different than your normal topics can help.

If those things do not seem to work for you, you can search for creative or journal writing software to help you with your writing problem. Oftentimes, these things have suggestions of topic or idea that can help you get started.

Think about an extraordinary topic. For example, you can research about inventions and inventors. What was the first car ever invented? Anything that you fancy can become a blog entry. You can look for answers to questions like the one about the car at online resources like encyclopedias and almanacs. When you have the answer, blog about it. You never know, maybe some people are thinking of the same things and you have answered their questions. Besides, it can be good to drift from your usual topic one in awhile. Your readers might feel refreshed by the change.

If none of these exercises help, it might be time to do something unrelated to writing for a while. Sometimes we just need a break from writing! Go outside, go shopping, go to a movie. Anything to take your mind off of your blog. You just might feel refreshed and ready to start blogging once you get back up in front of your computer.

There are a lot more ways to beat blogger’s block. If you come up with something new that helps you get over it, think of what a good blog topic your experience would be! Who knows, you may even help someone out there who is struggling with blogger’s block!

    Blogging - A Beginner's Guide

If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.
    --- Napoleon Hill

Just as our eyes need light in order to see, our minds need ideas in order to conceive.
    ---Napoleon Hill

Knowing "how" to think is much more important than knowing "what" to think. Those among us that understand how to gather knowledge, then how to use and apply what their small inner voice suggests are truly wise. The realization that our "inner voice" is our higher self (inject your own term, i.e., God, Angel, Spiritual Guide, etc.) asking to manifest itself can be a life changing event!

Okay, so what is a blog anyway? A blog is basically an online journal in which you can digitally pen down your thoughts, ideas, opinions and practically anything that you want people to read. Blogs come in different styles, formats, and settings, depending on the preference of the user. Many blogging sites, offer built in features such as hyperlink, straight texts, pictures etc. Instead of writing texts, some bloggers choose to make their blogs more audio friendly, by using spoken word entries. This is called audio blogging.

Some blogging sites, even allow you to put video and mp3's on your blogs. Blogging is popular all over the world.
Blog is short for the term weblog. There are very few rules when it comes to blogging which means that bloggers have the freedom to express themselves in most any way they want. Perhaps the best thing about blogging, is that most blogging sites are free. Anyone who wants to start a blog can do so by becoming a member of a blogging website of their choice. Once they've become members, they automatically become a part of that particular blogging community. They can browse through other blogs, and link them back to their own blogs. They can also make comments on other members' blogs.

Bloggers usually communicate within themselves. This is one of the appeals of blogging. It creates a community of people sharing their ideas, thoughts, and comments with each other. Blogging is not just limited to personal usage. There are a lot of blogs that follow a theme such as: sports, politics, philosophy, social commentary, etc. These blogs build on their specific themes. In this way blogging becomes a medium in which people can share their knowledge and opinions about a variety of themes and topics.

Many groups exist within blogging communities. Of course, the members of the group have a common interest and the blogs provide a place for the group members to share their interest. Chats and forums are also contained within blogging communities.

A lot of entrepreneurs benefit from blogging by promoting their businesses on their blogs. With the rapid growth of blogging communities, entrepreneurs have found that this is a very cost-effective way to promote their roducts/services.

Some bloggers use their blogs as a means to advertise things such as ebooks, while other bloggers, use their blogs to shed light on current issues, events, news and catastrophes. It seems the uses of this communication medium are imitless!

Blogs are also being used by many teachers and professors. Lessons that they have discussed and taught can be posted on a blog which allows students access to this information 24/7. This provides a way for students to keep up with assignments and projects.

The main features of a blog are:
    * Title- which allows you to label your post
    * Body- this is the content of your post

    * Trackback- other sites can be linked back
    to your blog

    * Permanent link- every article that you
    write has an URL

    * Comments- this allow readers to post
    comments on your blog

One of the advantages of blogging, is that it is made up of only a few templates. In comparison to websites that are made up of numerous individual pages this is a much simpler format. This make it easier for blog users to create new pages, because it already has a fix setting that include: slots for title, body of the post, category, etc. This is especially useful for first time users, since they can start blogging right away. They can choose from a number of templates that blogging websites provide.

But by far, the most popular blog type is the one that takes the form of a personal journal. This is the kind that is usually used by first time bloggers. Individuals who want to document the daily struggle of their everyday lives, share poems, rant about their issues or perhaps world issues, or simply post their opinions will find that blogging offers a place to do just that.

Blogs varying in topics, themes, and set-ups, can be found in blog directories. Browsing through these directories is beneficial for first time users. They can check out a number of blogs before deciding on any. This provides an opportunity to get acquainted with what these blogging communities are like. An educated decision can then be made about which blogging community better meets the needs and appeals to the interest of the newcomer...allowing a first-timer to get exactly what he/she is after. Blogging is fun, simple, and easy. If you haven't tried it yet, do it now! You'll enjoy it!!
