Getting Started

If you have not already done so, you will need to download the LogMeIn Hamachi software.

The installation process is straightforward. Once setup has finished, Hamachi detects if you are running the program for the first time and will run a Quick Guide for new users to acquaint themselves with the program basics. By following this guide, you will be set up with a Hamachi address.

Creating a Network

Using Hamachi begins with the creation of a network. You do this by selecting the Networks button and then the Create new network option.
In the Create new network dialog box, you will need to name your network and create a password. The network name should be unique and is limited to 64 characters in length. The password - or pass phrase - should be something that only you know and is very hard to guess - the security of your network is dependent on it. There is no limit to the length of the passphrase. Once you have done this, click Create and the network now appears in the Hamachi client.

Joining a Network

The next step is to have other computers join you network. On a computer other than the one used to create the network, click on the Networks button. In the menu that appears, select Join existing network.
The Quick Guide gives you an example network to join, however, in the above example, the name and passphrase of another network: MyPrivateNetwork, have been entered. The next step is to select Join. The network then appears in the Hamachi client, showing that you have joined it.
Leaving a Network

Leaving a network created by someone else is done by right clicking on a network in the client, and selecting Leave network.
Deleting a Network

If you wish to leave a network that you created the situation is significantly different. In this case, you are not leaving a network, but deleting it. Be careful with this option, as it will completely sever all connections between other members of that network and the action is irreversible.
It is done by right clicking on your network and selecting Delete network. Once you confirm the action, the network will disappear from your client and that of every other network peer.

USB over Network allows you to work with the remote USB devices over a local network or Internet as if they were connected directly to your local PC. It's very convenient when you have to share some USB devices among several users. FabulaTech has resolved this problem in a different extraordinary way. We've created USB over Network which allows to work with remote USB devices over a local network or Internet. All you have to do is to install USB over Network Server on the PC where USB devices are plugged in. USB over Network Client must be installed on the PCs you want to give access to those very USB devices you've already plugged in. That's all. Now any user which has installed USB over Network Client can work with remote USB devices as if they were connected directly to his local PC. It's very simple.

Problem:
Usually, when you need to use any USB device (like scanner, flash-memory, etc) you plug it into USB port of your computer. But for all that, the device is accessible only for the computer it is plugged into. And what if someone else needs to use the same USB device?

Common Solution:
1) You can unplug USB device from your PC and give it to another user.
Disadvantages: according to different circumstances, not always there is a possibility to give USB device to another user, even for a while.
2) You can allow another user to work with that device on your PC.
Disadvantages: not always there is a possibility to allow someone else to work with that USB device on your PC (especially if another user is in the another office, city or country).
3) It is possible to purchase the same USB devices additionally.
Disadvantages: additional USB devices could be purchased but it depends on the cost of the device and quantity required.

Example:
John, Nancy and Richard need to work with expensive and massive USB slide scanner from time to time.

The scanner is plugged into Richard's PC. And every time when Nancy or John needs to work with this scanner, they occupy Richard's computer and keep him from doing his job.

To resolve this problem USB over Network Server was installed on Richard's PC. And USB over Network Client was installed on both Nancy's and John's computers.

Richard shared USB slide scanner for common use. As soon as Nancy or John needs to work with the scanner, they can access it remotely, using USB over Network Client. They work as if the scanner was connected directly to their local computers.
